4) Communities that Care (CTC) – Positive Action Word of the Week
Attached is Happiness – the Positive Action Word of the Week for October 8, 2012.
Explanation - Positive Action is an evidence based program which is being used in 22 schools across the Cariboo Chilcotin. It is also being used in Strong Start programs, preschools, and some after school programs in Williams Lake. The underlying philosophy of Positive Action is that when we think positive thoughts, we do positive actions, and this helps us feel good about ourselves. It helps build emotional literacy and a common language and framework on how we want to interact with each other. Each week, Positive Action introduces a new word of the week. Our goal is to post the word of the week in as many places as possible in order to wrap the positive message of Positive Action around our children and their families. We appreciate your support in this.
5) Made in the Cariboo Craft Sale – Vendor Information
The Williams Lake Visitor Centre 3rd Annual Made in the Cariboo Craft Sale still has space available for vendors on November 24th. Please Contact the Williams Lake Visitor Centre 250-392-5025 for more info about being a vendor.
6) Studio Gallery Space Available
Delainey's Center Mall has 700sqft of art studio space at the back of the building next to Satya Wellness and Exposed Expressions Tattoo salon. Angie Delainey is currently managing the center along with her best friend and business partner Tricia Hohert. The aim for the building is to create an eclectic culture of arts, wellness, sustainability and self expression. Delainey's Lock and Key is considered the cornerstone of the building, bringing in a wide range of clientele that might not necessarily go to a yoga class, shop in an eco conscious boutique or drop into an art studio. This piece of the puzzle is an essential slice of the pie in regards to exposure. We would love to see a "working art studio" one that is perhaps rented by a group of artists whom want to share the process of creation as well as sell their wares. For more information or if you have an idea please email Angie at info@satyayogastudio.ca or call 305-4422.
