3) Cariboo Social Enterprise Facebook
page
Non-profit
and charitable organizations looking for more diversified and secure funding
are beginning to look at Social Enterprise as a potential financial base.
Enterprising Non-Profits BC gives local groups the tools necessary to develop
business plans for successful social enterprises that create community impact
and strengthen social values as a way of building healthy communities.
http://www.socialenterprisecanada.ca/en
On June 2,
several local people participated in a Building Your Social Enterprise workshop
in Williams Lake, learning about why and how a social enterprise might add
capacity to small organizations. As a result, we have started a Facebook page
for local people to share information, brainstorm ideas, and generally meet to
think about ways in which we can make limited resources go further and do more
in the Cariboo region: www.facebook.com/CaribooSocialEnterprise
If you are
interested in learning more about social enterprise and are not on Facebook,

fun by participating in the 2014 BC Summer Reading Club: Build it!
Registration is free and

keep track of their reading, and if they read at least 15 minutes a day, for
the length of the program then they’ll be awarded a special medal at the end of

Regular reading through the

out. Summer Reading Club makes reading fun, as kids can read whatever material
they like, wherever they wish. Children can read themselves or listen to
stories in any language. Throughout the program we will also do a variety of
fun crafts and activities related to our seven different themes!
