to our Annual General Meeting being held on Monday Nov 24th at 11:30 am at the
City of Williams Lake. At this meeting "Project Comeback" will
presenting and everyone is encouraged to attend, and bring an interested

2) External Review of the Williams Lake TRU campus -
your input is welcomed
The SPC is invited to
participate in an external review of the Thompson Rivers University Williams
Lake Campus. The SPC now asks for you to send answers to the questions below as
posed by TRU so we can accurately reflect the viewpoints of our membership and
community members. Please send your replies by Nov 28th.
-Are the Williams Lake and Regional campuses
meeting the key responsibilities to students -and the community?
-What is your perception of service and
quality of programming?
-Is the current nature of programming
appropriate? If not, what additional
programming should be offered?
-Are the Williams Lake and Regional Campuses
meeting the needs of aboriginal peoples?
-What are the strengths and weaknesses of
Williams Lake and the regional campuses?

3) The 4th annual Earth Friendly Holiday Event - Fri Nov 28th & Sat Nov 29th
Friday November 28th from 6 - 9pm, and Saturday November 29th from 11 - 2. Enjoy a
bowl of soup to the sounds of live seasonal music, or make your own gifts from
recycled materials. Local artists and crafters will guide you in making
wreaths, wrapping paper, bird feeders and ornaments. Visit the gift shop, where
local artisans and producers will have their goods on sale. As usual the event
is free to all ages. This event
is made possible with the support of the Cariboo Regional District and City of
Williams Lake via the Central Cariboo Arts and Culture Society.

the Week - "Wellness"
The Positive Action word of
the week of Nov 25th is Wellness: To be totally
healthy in body, mind, and feelings.

5) Ten Thousand Villages Annual Craft Sale - Nov 20
- 22nd
The Ten Thousand Villages
Annual Craft Sale is being held at the Cariboo Bethel Church Hall at 833
Western Ave. Being held on Friday Nov 21st from 3 - 8 pm, and Saturday Nov 22nd
from 10am - 4pm. Find Fair Trade items from over 35 Countries. Call

6) Cowboy Christmas Craft Fair & Concert - Nov 22nd
On Saturday Nov 22nd at
the Gibraltar Room at the Recreation Complex is the craft fair and concert
brought to you by the Museum of the Cariboo Chilcotin. Free admission to the
craft fair and $15/ticket for the Concert starting at 7pm (tickets available at
the door, or Museum). For further information please call 250-392-7404 or stop
by the Museum located at 113 North 4th Avenue.
7) Medieval Market is this weekend at Lake City
Secondary from 10am - 4pm
The annual Medieval
Market is at Lake City Secondary this weekend from 10a m - 4pm both Saturday
and Sunday. Admission is $3 and find over 89 vendors this year! Stop by the
Williams Lake Campus at 640 Carson Drive this weekend.
8) Child Development Centre's 9th Annual Yuletide
Meals - donate a plate
The annual Yuletide
Dinner is coming up on Dec 9th from 4-7pm and the Christmas Wish buffet
Breakfast on Dec 26th from 6 - 10 am at the Ramada. These meals help countless
local families who cannot afford to buy gifts for their children. The cost of
the breakfast is either cash donation or a new unwrapped child's toy. To
sponsor a meal(s), please stop by the CDC at 690 N 2nd Ave or call 250-392-4481
with any further questions.

10) Hospice's 19th Annual Memory Tree Celebration
The Williams Lake Hospice
Society is celebrating their 19th Annual Memory Tree Celebration on
Sunday, December 7th @ the Council Chambers, City Hall from 3:00pm
to 4:30 pm. It is the perfect opportunity to remember and commemorate those who
have passed away and a place for our community to gather for mutual support.
Our volunteers will also be
sitting at Save-On Foods from Monday, November 24th to Saturday,
December 6th from 10am- 6pm collecting loved-ones names for the
Memory Book and donations for Memory Tree ornaments. The celebration opens in
the City Hall lobby with snacks and refreshments, followed by poems and spiritual
readings in the City Hall Chambers. Choir performances, harp music, candle
lighting, reading of the Memory Book and a moment of silence are all part of
the festivities. The celebration concludes with the lighting of the Memory Tree
outside City Hall at 4:30pm.
Everyone is invited!! Whether
you are there to remember a loved one and purchase an ornament in their name or
simply to celebrate the season.
If you wish to donate in
memory of a loved one and have their name added to the Memory Tree, please come
see us at Save On Foods from November 24th -December 6th.

11) 1st Step Program Mobile Treatment Centre - in
Williams Lake from Nov 24 - 28th
The 1st Step Mobile
Treatment Program is for persons aged 13 - 24 who are experiencing difficulties
surrounding substance misuse. The program is based on harm reduction approach
by meeting the youth where they are at in their readiness for change. The
program is both community and youth driven.
The 1st Step Program
includes: alcohol & drug education, feeling and emotions group work,
relapse prevention, anger management and critical thinking, family issues,
nutrition, exercise & recreation, sexual health, individual counselling, 12
step meetings and spiritual and cultural teachings.

12) Salvation Army Christmas Hamper & toy
registration - Nov 17 - 21st
The Salvation Army's
hamper & toy registrations - final registration takes place from 1 - 4pm on
Thursday Nov 27th.
Hampers and Toys will be
distributed on Friday Dec 19th at the Church sanctuary at 267 Borland from 10am
- 4pm. Hampers will be distributed to clients whose applications have been
approved, have identification, a hamper registration card and be there in
person to pick-up. Call 250-392-2423 for more information.
