Glass Slippers still needs help for Graduation this weekend!
Glass Slipper Boutique is in full swing
with grad happening this weekend and we need your help!! Boutique Day is happening on Saturday, June 15 from 10-2:00 at the
Glass Slipper, and Lora Fairbrother is still looking for volunteers for that
day:
“I am looking for anyone who wants to
provide help with hairdressing, make up or nails. Even people willing to try,
they do not have to be professionals. I have all the supplies other than if
someone was to want to bring their own curling irons, straighteners etc. that
they are used to using.
Also I am still getting calls &
doing fittings & sewing. Now that the date has passed to rent tuxedos &
I have depleted the men’s formal wear room, I am in need of more men’s
items...Any, suits, tux shirts, dress pants, tuxs... I don’t have much to offer
the ones that are coming this week. Men’s dress shoes too please. And
Cuff links, yes cuff links.... I am just emptied out of everything but XXL
sizes. We have fitted 35 right now, 28 last year. And last year I
fitted 6 in the last 24 hrs.”
Please contact Lora at Phone: (250) 267-1467 Email: lora.fairbrother@sd27.bc.ca
if you can help out.

Free Film Showing - We were children
For over 130 years till 1996, more than
100,000 of Canada's First Nations children were legally required to attend
government-funded schools run by various Christian faiths. There were 80 of
these 'residential schools' across the country. Most children were sent to
faraway schools that separated them from their families and traditional land.
Told through their own voices, 'We Were Children' is the true story of two such
children: Glen Anaquod and Lyna Hart.
Warning: This film
contains strong content. Parental discretion is strongly advised.
Friday June 21, doors open @ 6:30pm

Room, 525 Proctor Street

Central Cariboo Arts & Culture Society updates (3)
a) Launch of Central Cariboo Art Route:
Looking for something to do with your
visitors this summer? A family outing? Wanting to meet some of our local
artists and see them in action? Look no further! The Central Cariboo Arts and
Culture Society, with the support of the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast Tourism
Association and the Cariboo Regional District, are pleased to present the 2013
Central Cariboo Art Route. This project is supported by the Community Tourism
Opportunities (CTO) program under the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Innovation.
The Central Cariboo Art Route is an opportunity to develop the arts sector and showcase the region’s artists and artisans. We are very excited to invite you to embark on this regional tour. By using the Central Cariboo Art Route guide, available either as a printed brochure or through our interactive website, locals and visitors alike can map out their travels and have the chance to connect with artists at work, gaining a deeper sense of their practice. Please, don’t be shy about contacting artists or visiting studios during posted hours. Artists and businesses displaying the Central Cariboo Art Route logo are participants in the 2013 Route. We look forward to welcoming you!
Increased market exposure and revenue generated for local artists through direct sales and/or post-visit shipping orders, along with increased visits and sales to local galleries and cafes, has the potential to transform our resource dependent economy to a diversified economy, rich in artistic talent.
Brochures may be found at participating studios and businesses, at the Central Cariboo Arts Centre (90 Fourth Avenue North), at various Tourist Information centres across the province, or by visiting www.centralcaribooarts.com/artroute.html
