FREE public walk to join Secwepemc (Shuswap) elders Jean Williams and Cecilia
DeRose in the Williams Lake River Valley on Saturday Aug 8th starting at 10 am.
They will generously share their wisdom about the many uses of plants as food,
medicines, and construction materials. Even learn Secwepemc names for some

the Cariboo Regional Library invites your child and your family to join in the
reading fun by participating in the 2015 BC Summer Reading Club: Build it!

the Library to receive a special kit to keep track of their reading, and if
they read at least 15 minutes a day, for the length of the program then they’ll

out. Summer Reading Club makes reading fun, as kids can read whatever material
they like, wherever they wish. Children can read themselves or listen to
stories in any language. Throughout the program we will also do a variety of
fun crafts and activities related to our seven different themes!

9) Boys & Girls Club's annual STREET PARTY - Aug 26th from 6 - 9pm
It is the time of year for us
to plan our annual Family Street Party. Last year was a great success with over
200 participants (infant to adult) and many agencies participating. The date of
this years’ party is August 26, 2015 from 6-9pm. In 2013 it was the first year
that we changed our format and made it more of a collaborative effort. It
became an opportunity to have some summer fun, provide a free community event,
and advertise what our organizations do.
At this event we provide free
activity tables, free games, a free BBQ, prizes, and more. It is my hope that
we can get even more organizations participating this year. If you would like
to provide an activity table (ex. craft, carnival-style game, activity) please
let me know and we would love to have you participate. Please find my contact
information on the bottom. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Matt Neufeld
