2) International Women's Day - Celebration at TRU
tonight Mar 6th
The Women's Contact Society
is hosting their annual celebration of International Women's Day this evening,
Mar 6th at TRU. Appetizers start at 5pm, Women with Heart Award at 5:10 pm, and
Presenters start at 5:30 pm. Free admission and everyone is welcome to attend.
"Paint it Purple" and "Make it Happen".
3) Performances in the Park - call for Performers 2015
The Central Cariboo Arts
& Culture Society (CCACS) is happy to announce that the free summer concert
series, "Performances in the Park" will begin on Thursday Jul 2 at
6:00 pm and will continue each week at the same time and day in Boitanio Park
until Aug 20th. Once again this is with support of the City and CRD and
management by Angela Sommer.
The CCACS is looking for
performers to fill the slots in the following categories: music performers, and
additional performance by youth, theatre, dance, musical and fashion shows. All
acts will be family friendly!

4) TRU Gala 2015 - Guys & Dolls - Sat Mar 28th
Join us for an evening of
elegance and jazz to help support TRU scholarships and Awards on Saturday March
28th at the Thompson Rivers University Williams Lake Auditorium. Cocktails
start at 6pm, dinner at 7pm, Dance at 9pm. Live & Silent Auctions with
music by Brandon Isaak & The Twisters. Fundraiser costs $120/person or

Next Social Planning Council Meeting - Monday Mar 23rd at the City
Next Social Planning Council Meeting -
Monday Mar 23rd at 11 am at the City of Williams Lake. Presenter is the Cariboo
Regioal District on the survey results from the "Central and South Cariboo Mental Health Services Gaps Analysis"
6) Immigrant & Multicultural Services Society
(IMSS) - Citizenship Sessions
Friday March 20th from 12 pm
- 2 pm learn about changes to Federal programs for temporary workers family
reunification, spousal sponsorship and immigration applications.
IMSS also provides free
monthly sessions discussing the process of applying for Canadian Citizenship,
as well as preparing people to take the Citizenship test in the future.
Sessions are interactive, fun, and open to all who are considering citizenship
in the next two years. Next sessions are on Monday Mar 16th at 9:30am and
Thursday Feb 18 Mar 19th at 6:00 pm.
All workshops are free and
open to everyone regardless of immigration status. However, people with
permanent resident status will be asked to provide some documentation in order
that we can continue to receive funding and serve the Williams Lake community.

Williams Lake Wanderers - March Schedule
To join this group, come
about 9:15 am to the Cariboo Memorial Complex on a Tues., Wed., or Thursday. We
always begin our outings from there, so you can fill out a membership form and
pay your $10 annual fee. We leave at
9:30 am. Once you're a member, you will receive emails with schedule and
schedule changes. Schedules and updates are also on Facebook.
By the middle of the month, we have scheduled
only walking/hiking in anticipation of Spring!! Check your schedule daily.

Enjoy free "Tumble and
Play" on Saturdays at the Marie Sharpe Gym from 10 - 11:30 am. This is an
active parent and tot playtime where you can bounce, catch, slide, race and
tumble extended to Mar 28th and includes spring break. A variety of sports
equipment, toys and mats will be available. Adult participation is required.
